Weather is worse. We have the four seasons every hour it seems but somehow it is interesting today and we are dressed for it.
They don’t wake the boys. We (Ray and I ). Eat at 8:00 am. Walk in the wet air to Knightsbridge where we split up at Harrods. Marvelous store. I try on shoes, look at sweaters, jewelry. Get on 4th floor and find Mod Shop called Way In and regret that the boys weren’t here. Its mad, black walls, bright lights, mod music, crazy clothes, young people - what am I doing here? Try on sweater. Don’t buy anything and time is running out. Buy coasters for Jane. Meet others at 12:00 stores close at 1:00. They didn’t buy anything either. We eat lunch at Wimpy. Walk back (a very long walk!) In the drizzling rain. Ray takes a nap and we take 3 bags of clothes to the launderette.
Going off on my own after sending boys off with clothes, I find a men’s hair dressing place so run back to get them. Reluctantly I get them to go after I bring them there I go have a cup of tea at the Golden Egg.
They look human again and afterwards we all go for our London at night tour. This is a very nice one. See things lit up and also stop at Prospect of Whitley Pub for a drink. See more of the sites we saw on the other too but more like the fish market, etc. and have another pub stop at the George. Only alley of 16th century Tudor buildings left.
After being dropped off at Trafalagar we walk probably all through Mayfair. (Mind you this is still in the rain). Also forgot to say that our guide had a deep Spanish or Italian accent, but was nice.
See new Hilton Hotel, etc. Stop for coffee at a little place and take cabby home. I know I’ve forgotten something but will try to think of it later. I do know that we all enjoyed the funny weather this time.
